Swansea started out as a stopping point for the Southbound Railroad, also later knwon as the Seabound Airline Railroad. Originally a stop for the Southbound Railroad (later the Seaboard Airline Railroad). The railroad stop helped it grow into a tiny town. It is located in the South part of Lexington County and has great homes, amenities, restaurants, and includes grocery stores, banks, gas stations and churches.

Swansea is very small with a population around 1,000, so it has that small-town feel, with the advantage of being close to nearby towns including South Carolina’s capital city. This means you can live in a small-town area, but still have easy access to busier cities when living in Swansea.

The town hosts parties for the Swansea Fall Festival and Rodeo every year, which makes living there special and fun.
